I am pleased to announce EMP Museum’s Spring Break Teen Artist Workshops are now open for registration, available to teens entering grades 8-12. Workshops this spring include Rock Band, Spoken Word Poetry/Performance, and Music Journalism for the Digital Generation. Scholarships are available..
Also, Creativity Camps for Children, are now open for registration. Offered over Spring and Summer Break, EMP’s Creativity Camps are taught by enthusiastic professional teaching artists, experienced in working with young children. Following a week of collaborative learning, workshops culminate with performances and/or original work to take home. Creativity Camps are open to kids in grades 1 to 8 with content tailored to specific age ranges. In addition we would use the visit to connect your educators and students to some of the many exciting programs EMP has to offer:
- Group Visits as low as $5 per youth for educational and non- profit organizations
- Curriculum Connections: customized academic lesson plans/workshops added to visits that use music, pop culture, and science fiction and museum exhibits to enhance K-12 learning objectives
- Educator Online courses: Online and physical lesson plans related to teaching music, pop culture, and science –teachers earn WA state clock hours
- Teen Artist Workshops during school breaks and summer: week long workshops taught by professional artists in rock band, sci fi and fantasy writing, DJ’ing spoken word poetry and more.
