Under direct supervision, performs general transportation planning activities related to data analysis and preparation of statistical reports based on information derived from sources such as onboard monitoring equipment, including automated vehicle locator (AVL), passenger counting systems (APC), Smartcard or electronic farebox collection systems. Analysis of ridership trends, system performance and other strategic information captured within a transportation planning database. Essential functions: Performs comparative analysis of ridership, operating exceptions, schedules and alternatives including fieldwork in surveying, forecasting demand and documenting proposed service modifications to support Planning and Operations functions. Assists in the coordination of planning analysis activities and projects with other Agency divisions, and with Local, State and Federal agencies and organizations. Works in conjunction with other departments on special projects and issues such as database/data reports design and management, inter-agency service coordination and other analytical requirements. Creates and modifies custom reports utilizing software such as Crystal Reports or other reporting software or via ad hoc database query. Verifies database for accuracy, creates/maintains processes to validate data and identify database/systemic issues. Makes recommendations and assists in the preparation of transportation plans. Participates in meetings, focus groups, and/or other related events. Compiles and analyzes a variety of transportation related data and information related to Federal Transit Administration NTD reporting. Using analytical tools, evaluates the impact to transit of proposed land use actions. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Hiring Range:? $49,344 – $59,978 annually? ? Salary Range: $49,344 – $69,432 annually, paid on a bi-weekly basis
Required: Bachelor?s Degree in Business Analysis, Business Administration, Urban Planning, or a related field; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.? Experience using data base tools including MS-Access and MS-Excel. Desired: Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Crystal reports. Basic Syntax language for database queries. Experience with or knowledge of GIS software (including ESRI and MapInfo). Special Requirements: Must be able to get to various locations within the region to conduct bus facility site visits, conducting time checks for a proposed route change and for public and advisory committee meetings, and training. Must possess or be able to acquire a valid Washington State Driver?s License within 30 days of hire.
