Family Services and Mental Health is currently hiring for an open position in our Children’s Crisis Outreach Response System (CCORS) for a Behavioral Support Specialist. This is a Full Time Master’s Level Position or Bachelor level candidates with 2 or more years of comparable experience. The Behavioral Support Specialist works in conjunction with the CCORS team to offer intense in-home interventions for Families. The Behavioral Support Specialist (BSS) position requires direct experience working with children including applied knowledge of early childhood development, child mental health and behavioral issues, and parent skills coaching. This position provides home-based services and will work several evenings up to 8 PM and occasional weekends to accommodate the schedules of parents. The BSS will need to be flexible and have availability to work with families at times most convenient to their schedule and needs; such as helping with morning routines, bedtime/evening routines or helping develop structure in the home on weekends. The BSS will teach, coach and model to parents’ new ways to consistently and positively interact with their children, and assist them in developing age appropriate behavior management strategies. The BSS will create a Functional Behavioral Assessment to provide the family direction and ensure that the family’s desired goals are being addressed.
This is an exciting opportunity to work outside of the office with diverse families within their own environment. Successful applicants will be independent, self-motivated and able to be flexible in organizing their schedule to meet the needs of the families.
