The Dream Big! Scholarship
Description: The Dream Big! Scholarship Fund was established in 2004 by the Seattle Housing Authority (SHA) Higher Education Project to provide scholarship support for qualified students living in SHA housing or in a household that receives a SHA Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8).
Availability: At least two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in 2016.
Eligibility: (Applicants must meet all of the criteria below)
- Resident of Seattle Housing Authority Low-Income Public Housing or in a household that receives a SHA Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8);
- Minimum GPA of 2.5;
- Age 21 and under and will have graduated from high school or obtained a GED by Fall, 2016;
- Plan to attend college full-time in the next academic year. College is defined as: a community college, technical school, or a four-year institution of higher education.
Distribution of scholarship funds:
- Paid directly to the school for tuition, books and fees for the 2016-2017 academic year.
Scholarship selection process:
Scholarship recipients are selected by a committee from the Seattle Housing Authority Higher Education Project through review of completed application materials.
Deadline to apply: Application postmarked or delivered to Dream Big! Scholarship Committee (address included on the application page) by 5 PM Thursday, March 31st, 2016.
